Pet Picture of the Day

Dog Beach

We took Cali to Dog Beach in Huntington Beach, CA.

She loves the water, but it may take her a while to get used to this whole "wave" thing.

The Getty.

The Getty Center, designed by architect Richard Meier, is the $1.2 billion flagship museum of the J. Paul Getty Trust, the largest arts endowment in history (at over $3 billion).

The Getty Center is high enough that on a clear day, it is possible to see the snow at Big Bear as well as the Pacific Ocean and the entire Los Angeles basin. It was not even close to clear enough on the day we went.

Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park, V

We ventured into one of the mountains. This is Boyden cave.

The cave is a constant 55 degrees year round.

On our way to see the Boole Tree, Cali tried out her new backpack.

Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park, IV

One of the many waterfalls that feed into the Kings River.

Zumwalt meadow is another another meadow in the Sequoia National Forest.

As expected, the views were amazing.

And terrifying. Those granite boulders came tumbling down from that huge rock. Yikes!

Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park, III

This is the King's River.

It was kind of scary how fast it was moving. We came to the park at the right time, just as the snow was melting into all the rivers.

Crescent meadow is a huge meadow in the middle of a very thick forest.

Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park, II

This is Moro Rock. It's pretty huge. We climbed to the top of it.

This was some of the view from the top of the gigantic granite rock.

This was also another view. The large mountain range off in the distance is the Great Western Divide.

This is an adorable little stream we came across on one of the trails.

There was some very unique moss growing on some of the Sequoias.

Yes, we know it's raining.

On our return visit to Massachusetts, we decided to spend a day at Six Flags New England with D.J., Christa and Brian. It rained four of the six days we were in our home state. The day we went to Six Flags was one of the four, but we still had fun.

We got to spend quality time with superheroes.

As well as oversized plush cartoon characters.

Christa had never experienced the Superman roller coaster and was a little nervous.

Brittany took full advantage of the opportunity.
