Cali's a winner.

We entered Cali in Petco's "Best Bark" Contest. For those of you who have met Cali, you know exactly why we entered her (with great confidence). She achieved the highest honor and won first place. Check out her blue ribbon! Cali also won a gift card, which she used to purchase some kitty litter for Dash and Griz.

4th of July, Part IV

On our way back from the Mammoth Mountain Lodge, we encountered a coyote sitting on the side of the road. Cali really wanted to say "hi", but our schedule would not allow for playtime.

The Devil's postpile ranks as one of the world’s finest examples of columnar basalt.

They were practically giving the gas away.

Mono lake which is outside of Yosemite is considered to be one of North America's oldest lakes. It is twice as salty as the ocean.

4th of July, Part I

We spent our 4th of July weekend/week in Yosemite National Park and the surrounding areas.


Yosemite Falls, one of the world's tallest, is actually made up of three separate falls: Upper Yosemite Fall (1,430 feet), the middle cascades (675 feet), and Lower Yosemite Fall (320 feet).

El Capitan rises more than 3,000 feet above the Yosemite Valley floor and is the largest monolith of granite in the world.

Tunnel View is one of the more famous views of Yosemite Valley.
