On our way back from the Mammoth Mountain Lodge, we encountered a coyote sitting on the side of the road. Cali really wanted to say "hi", but our schedule would not allow for playtime. 
The Devil's postpile ranks as one of the world’s finest examples of columnar basalt. 
This is the view from on top. The rock naturally forms into these hexagon shapes.
